Business Bonus: LinkedIn down, Internet Clowns

When the world's .... strangest networking site when down on Feb. 23rd, people were quick with the jokes. Some of my peers find value in LinkedIn; After 4 years, I see it as a soundboard for everything wrong with the modern workforce, a giant conference for people with no empathy, wearing 16-hour workdays as badges of honor. Besides their abysmal censoring of black professionals and the rampant bigotry of the userbase, LinkedIn (Owned by Microsoft), have been posting more articles that empower the jobseeker.  And, slowly, people on the site have been changing too - For the better. They're being deprogrammed, learning that their job doesn't really warrant a 40-hour week, that their company could absolutely pay them the same for less hours, that they too can have a happier, more balanced life if they push for it. But we still had THE JOKES.  Only my tweets are directly embedded; If you see yours here and would like me to embed them, contact me on Twitter. Society wh

Business Bonus: Oh, Paypal, Where Art Thou (Currency Conversion)? (Up. 4/19)

Imagine being the largest online money transfer company in the world. You deal with international payments and multiple currencies. You charge a fee in exchange for benefits like one-click transaction, and people are happy to oblige. You were spearheaded to glory by Elon Musk himself. You are Paypal. And a big part of your business is broken.    Feb. 24th - The Issue was fixed for me, though I am hearing reports that it wasn't for everyone. In fact, the error came back for me once again . The work arounds do not work. If the system remains up and operation for a week , I will edit. Starting February 11th, 2021, people have been reporting that they cannot convert currency. People supporting friends, family, and commerce abroad find their money stuck in the native currency.  It's reported for at least 10 people on Paypal's forums.  Several people on Twitter have also reported the issue. Note the dates; Feb 17th through 20th. I have an inkling on how software and database chan

New Website Concepts - Made in Figma + Wireframing

I had a 'Website Refresh' draft in my portal here - At a year old, I thought "I might as well make another post," I said (In September 2020) and here we are (Feb 2021).  I decided to take a short Figma course (Also September 2020). I'd say "Why am I not on time?" but who says there was a "time"? My understanding of Figma...Well, I made these pages! Is it perfect? No, but the general idea is here.  2/2021 : I have added Wireframing for more ideas. The Wireframes do not match the concepts in Figma.  Every icon sans the blog logo is from Evericons . The linked 'Concept #' lead to the actual Figma file, so take a look at it!

The Many Forms of An Image Gallery, ft HTML, CSS, and Sass

Going from v.1 to the completed v.3 I collect Disney mugs (and some non Disney ones). One from every Canon film . I want to put all (35? 37?) in a grid.  Much of the base code for V1. came from the CSS Grid page here , at W3 Schools. Version 1 I wanted to have more than 3 entries per row. I thought sticking a new grid container (grid-cont) would fix that problem.
